According to Christopher Bunick, MD, PhD, associate professor of dermatology and physician-scientist at the Yale University School of Medicine and editor-in-chief of Dermatology Times, "First and foremost that there is not a safe level of benzene that can exist in any skin care product, over the counter or prescription. Benzene is highly carcinogenic."
