All water bottle filters are not created equally, and that includes the water bottle filling stations! If you want to ensure healthy water on the go, opt for an epic filtered water bottle. Personally, I’m choosing stainless or glass over plastic when I can, so I use this bottle, in addition to the filter conversion kits for stainless bottles I already own. Epic’s bottles filter water through a straw, so no gulping with this design. The stainless bottle is a bit on the large size and doesn’t fit cup holders, but it’s great for long treks or trips. Epic also has local artist-designed BPA-free bottles if you’re looking for something lighter. Use the ridged, white filter for untreated water like streams and rivers or tap water. The grey filter only filters tap water. Want to dive deeper on tap water quality? Check out my blog article here.
